Tommy French Competitions LTD ("we", "us", or "our") follows the UK Government's Voluntary Code of Good Practice for Prize Draw Operators (the "VCGP Code"). This page explains the safeguards we use to keep our competitions fair, transparent and responsible.
These commitments work alongside our Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy.
The Code expects prize draw operators to keep entries and advertising away from under-18s.
Our competitions are only for players aged 18 or over. When someone creates an account, they must confirm they are old enough to enter, and our Terms & Conditions exclude anyone under 18. Our marketing is aimed at adults only.
The Code expects players to have a clear way to raise concerns.
If something does not feel right, please tell us. You can contact us through our Support Hub, by Facebook Messenger, or by email at info@tommyfrenchcompetitions.com. Our team reviews complaints properly and works with players in good faith to resolve them.
The Code places limits on how credit cards can be used.
We apply these restrictions at checkout:
The Code expects players to be able to control how much they spend.
Signed-in players can set a personal monthly spend cap from their profile, including a cap of £0. Once your confirmed spend for the month reaches that cap, checkout will block any further purchases until the next month begins. You can lower your cap or set one at any time. If you want to increase it, you will need to contact our support team.
The Code expects players to be able to pause or close their account.
From your profile, you can pause your account for 6 months, 1 year, or permanently. You can choose whether the pause applies to all competitions or only instant-win games. While your account is paused, you cannot enter the competitions covered by that pause and you will not receive marketing from us. A pause can be extended, but not shortened. You can also close your account permanently at any time. Account closure cannot be reversed.
Operators are expected to watch for signs that play may be becoming harmful.
We review player activity on an ongoing basis. Repeated spend-limit hits, large or unusual payment-method changes, and other concerning patterns may be flagged for human review. Where needed, our team will offer or apply the right player protections.
Operators are expected to respond sensibly when signs of harm appear.
If we spot signs of possible harm, we respond in a way that fits the situation. That may mean pointing a player towards support services, encouraging them to set a spend cap, or, where appropriate, restricting or pausing the account. We look at each case individually.
Support should be easy for players to find.
If you're worried about your play, or about someone else's, the following independent organisations offer free, confidential support:
Players should have enough time to make considered decisions.
Our competitions stay open for a reasonable period between launch and draw. This gives players time to think before entering, rather than feeling pushed into quick repeated entries. Opening and closing times are shown on each competition page.
The Code expects instant-win competitions to be explained clearly and kept in proportion.
Where a competition includes instant-win prizes, the free postal entry route is shown on the competition page and in our Terms & Conditions. Free postal entrants go into the same pool as paid entrants and can win both the main prize and any instant prizes. Instant-win competitions do not make up the majority of the competitions we offer.
The Code expects marketing to be responsible and age-appropriate.
Our marketing follows the CAP and BCAP codes, which are overseen by the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA). We do not target children or anyone under 18. We also do not present competitions as a way to solve financial difficulty or as an alternative to employment. Where marketing may be seen by vulnerable audiences, we take extra care.
The Code expects players to be able to understand how each type of draw works before they enter.
Every prize we run is awarded in accordance with the laws of chance. Each competition page includes a "How It Works" link with a plain-English explanation of the main draw, instant wins, and any mini-games such as slots, spins or scratch cards. The full rules and entry conditions are in our Terms & Conditions.
The Code expects winners to be selected fairly, in line with the published rules, and in a way that can be reviewed afterwards.
Main-prize winners are selected using a cryptographic random number generator. This is an industry-standard way to produce fair, unpredictable results. Live draws are carried out on camera at the published time, with the winning number generated live on stream. Auto draws use the same cryptographic random number process automatically when the competition closes. Instant-win prize positions are randomly assigned to ticket numbers before sales open, then locked in. We keep the full entry list after each draw so results can be reviewed and audited.
Players should have useful information about their chances before they enter.
Every competition page shows the maximum number of tickets available and the number sold so far, updated live as entries are bought. This helps you see how many tickets are in the draw before you decide to enter.
The Code expects free entry options to be easy to find and genuinely available.
Every competition we run has a free entry route. The "Free Entry Method" button appears on every competition page before you reach the point of purchase. To enter by first or second class post, send a postcard with the competition name, your full name, address, phone number, email and your answer to the competition question to:
Tommy French Competitions, 64 William Street, Lurgan, County Armagh, BT66 6JB
Free entrants can win the main prize and any instant prizes on offer. They are allocated tickets randomly in the same way as paid entrants. Full details of the postal entry process, including timing requirements, are in our Terms & Conditions.
The Code expects prizes to be delivered as advertised.
Once a winner is verified, we deliver prizes as described on the competition page. Many prizes also have a cash alternative. Where that is available, the winner can choose the prize or the cash. Cash prizes and cash alternatives are paid to the winner's verified bank account. We do not reduce prize value, change draw dates, or cancel a competition because ticket sales are low. The full prize-delivery policy, including details for property prizes, is in our Terms & Conditions.
Any charity contributions linked to prize draws should be clear.
We publish a running total of the amount donated to charity through our competitions. The current total is shown in the footer of every page.
The Code expects operators to keep their own processes under review.
We review our compliance with the VCGP Code on an ongoing basis, both as part of day-to-day operations and after any complaint, incident or regulatory update. If we identify a gap or improvement, we act on it and update this page as our processes change.
The Code expects operators to take care when working with third parties.
Where we work with third parties, such as payment providers, marketing partners or affiliates, we take reasonable steps to make sure they respect the commitments on this page when acting on our behalf. We will end relationships with partners who are unwilling or unable to meet these standards.
The Code expects these commitments to be easy for players to find.
This page is our public statement. It is linked from the footer of every page on our site, reviewed regularly, and updated when our processes change.
